Navigating Family Dynamics in Your Portrait Experience

At Bella Luce we truly believe that family heirlooms embody the best parts of our past, reminding us of our shared history and the beauty that can be found in our memories together. That is why we believe in creating a timeless and beautiful centre piece for your home - preserving your family's legacy for generations to come.

Family dynamics can be challenging to navigate…sometimes. For some, the idea of posing at all, let alone within a family unit is daunting - you’re worried about your facial expressions, how you look, and whether your hand really is truly in the right position?

Whilst others are totally born for the spotlight and thrive when the focus is upon them. If this isn’t you, don’t worry. We’ve got a few secrets that we’ve picked up along the way to help you achieve the best kind of family portrait that makes you look and feel like yourself - just as it should be.

First is achieving the perfect colour combination - one that’s mutually flattering amongst all family members and makes you all feel (and look) good! You can check out our previous blog post here that provides advice for checking what colour scheme is the right fit for you.

Although the colour scheme is shared by all, make sure your piece of clothing reflects your individual sense of style. Keep it grounded, bouncing off the same palette, but embodying your own unique personality in elements such as differences in texture and pattern.

The second tip is to fake it until you make it. Act confident, and eventually, you’ll feel it too! A lot of our clients ease up after the first ten minutes. We know this is easier said than done - but these are your family! Be yourself and don’t be afraid to laugh a little if you feel self-conscious.

We don’t judge - we promise and want you to feel comfortable! We’ll help you through the process and coach you to make sure you look and feel your absolute best.

If there’s anything we at Bella Luce can do to make the process a little less daunting for you, let us know.

We’re happy to help!
